OFFICE POLITICS · A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US
OUR PURPOSE

For the conversations you replay on the way home.

Office Politics is an independent editorial and practical-guidance brand for the moments at work that stay with you. We want people to feel heard, recognise the dynamics around them and find useful words for what comes next.

It is not a forum for naming and shaming employers, an employment-law firm or a substitute for professional support.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING

More human than a list of scripts.

Workplace tensions can be funny, painful, confusing or all three. Our ambition is to bring thoughtful first-person experiences, carefully moderated perspectives and practical communication tools into one place.

Discover

A Casebook of workplace dilemmas, published only after source, permission and privacy checks. Until the first cases are ready, the Casebook makes that clear rather than filling space with invented testimonials.

The Confessional accepts workplace experiences for private editorial review. A submission is not automatically published, and video adaptation requires separate permission.

OUR EDITORIAL PROMISE

Never confuse a real account with a made-up example.

Office Politics uses several clearly distinguishable content types. These labels describe provenance, not independent proof that every event happened as reported.

Original Confessional
A person's first-person account submitted directly to Office Politics. Publication requires editorial review and appropriate permission.
Permissioned first-person account
A story from someone who has explicitly authorised the relevant use. We do not invent missing places, employers, ages or outcomes.
Licensed and attributed material
Material reused only where rights and licence obligations permit, with attribution and other required terms. No platform's public visibility is treated as blanket republication permission.
Editorial composite
An original, illustrative scenario combining common workplace dynamics. It is not represented as a real reader's personal experience. The 35 Playbook scenarios are composites.
External link or editorial commentary
Our own analysis of a story published elsewhere, with a link to the source rather than passing it off as a submission made to us.
Before anything is published: we review provenance, permission, privacy, potentially identifiable allegations and the difference between opinion and verified fact. We may edit, anonymise, decline or remove content. We do not automatically publish submissions or scrape and republish other platforms' first-person posts.
PRIVACY & SUPPORT

People, not raw material.

When you share your experience, we ask you to leave out names, employers, confidential information and identifying details. We cannot guarantee that an anecdote is unrecognisable to someone who already knows it. We respect separate choices for written publication and video adaptation.

Our free kit needs a name and email for delivery; marketing permission is a separate, optional choice. We do not manufacture endorsements, buyer counts or personal success claims.

We are also exploring a human Listening Room, but it is not yet open for private conversations. The dedicated Listening Room page describes the proposed service and its founding-pilot interest process. It is not an urgent-support channel.

For serious bullying, discrimination, harassment or other formal employment concerns, consider appropriate workplace procedures and Acas. We provide educational content, not individual legal, therapeutic or employment advice.
